Description
Brrr, it's cold outside! I wonder how these tiny hummingbirds survive in the winter. This poor female Anna's hummer woke up to a surprise when a couple of inches of snow fell overnight here on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. The hummingbird feeder got covered in snow but that didn't stop my little feathered friend from sipping some nectar...cold drink, anyone? Our yard and evergreen trees were covered in snow, which you can see in the background. It doesn't snow too often in the winter here on the west coast but when it does, I make sure all the birds have plenty to eat.
